Minibike Rider Severely Injured After Crash with SUV in Hyannis [Photo Notes]

  ABOVE: At around 10:30 p.m., Barnstable Police and Hyannis firefighters responded to the scene of a car vs. minibike crash on Pitchers Way at the intersection of Arbor Way in Hyannis. The male minibike rider suffered a serious leg laceration and lost a significant amount of blood. He also lost a fingertip, which was recovered from the pavement in front of the SUV (blurred and covered in black in the photo above). The rider was described as possibly a young man (official patient details have not yet been released). He was given immediate first aid and transported to Cape Cod Hospital with serious trauma. The driver (also blurred) of the Honda CR-V was visibly upset and overwhelmed. She was given a seat and comforted by bystanders.
