Yarmouth Police Reach Mid-Range Goal of 45 Crime Watch Neighborhoods
The Yarmouth Police Department has reached our mid-range goal of 45 Neighborhood Crime Watch Groups spread throughout the Town of Yarmouth.
Neighborhood Crime Watch is a critical aspect of our Community Policing Strategic Plan and began initially under retired Chief Peter L. Carnes and grew under the direction of recently retired Chief Michael J. Almonte. In the past 12 months, Yarmouth Police Lieutenant Patrick Carty and the Community Advisory Team have fostered the growth of the program into 45 neighborhoods with one of the most extensive networks of Crime Watch Captains in one community in the entire Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
If you are interested in forming a Neighborhood Crime Watch please review the following general outline of how to get one started in your neighborhood:
All Yarmouth Police Neighborhood Crime Watch Captains have been issued official Yarmouth Police Department Crime Watch Captain photo identifications and each one has done tremendous work in bolstering the Crime Watch Neighborhood Groups and in helping to work together with the women and men of the Yarmouth Police Department to make our community a safer and more comfortable place to live, work, and visit.

West Yarmouth Man Dies in Single Vehicle Crash
On Friday, February 17, 2012 at 7:33 PM Yarmouth Police and Fire Department personnel responded to a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Camp Street and Buck Island Road in West Yarmouth.
Yarmouth Police Patrol Officers Michael G.
