Comcast has opened a new Xfinity Store at the Cape Cod Mall in Hyannis, our fifth retail location on Cape Cod. To celebrate the store opening and our continued commitment to the area, we’ve partnered with the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center, awarding them a $20,000 grant and opening two WiFi-connected Lift Zones to help veterans get online and improve their digital literacy.

The new 1,917-square-foot Xfinity store at 793 Iyannough Road, accessible outside the mall, will enable our Cape customers to see and experience Xfinity’s suite of products in a modern, comfortable environment and to interact with our well-trained and knowledgeable teams.

In addition to demonstrations of our full line of Xfinity offerings, including Xfinity Internet, Xfinity Mobile, Xfinity X1, Flex and Xfinity Home, customers can get advice from our experts about their current services or devices, learn how Xfinity apps make it easy to manage their account and sign up for all Xfinity services.

Customers can also return or acquire equipment, purchase accessories for mobile devices as well as smart accessories for the home and pay bills at convenient self-service kiosks.

“Our newest Xfinity Store in Hyannis is an important part of our ongoing effort to improve the customer experience,” said Mike Iannetta, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Comcast’s Greater Boston Region. “Our dedicated employees can demonstrate the unmatched video experiences on our X1 platform; how Xfinity xFi transforms the home Wi-Fi experience with the fastest internet speeds; and the advantages inherent in Xfinity Mobile. We’re excited to be in our new and improved location in Hyannis and look forward to serving our customers.”

Paul Niedzwiecki, CEO of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce shared his perspective on the importance of Xfinity’s ongoing investment in the area: “The future of work requires fast and reliable internet service. With our population growing and more people working from home we are excited to welcome the expansion of Xfinity with its latest store on Cape Cod.”

Commitment to the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center

Comcast has entered into a new community partnership with the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center, awarding the organization a $20,000 grant to further its digital literacy training programs and enable its counseling staff to provide mental telehealth services.

In addition, Comcast is launching two WiFi-connected “Lift Zones” at Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center facilities to help veterans get online, participate in distance learning or remote work, or look for and apply for jobs. The Mashpee location is online and the Hyannis location will soon be operational as well.

“The veterans we serve on the Cape & Islands needed increased connectivity in order to complete digital literacy training programs and better engage with their community. Comcast equipping our centers as Lift Zones will give us the bandwidth and speed we need to provide veterans with an array of tools and online applications,” said Joe Taylor, Executive Director of the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center. “Comcast’s support will also enhance our counseling program by enabling more in-person and mental telehealth services.”

Lift Zones are part of Project UP, Comcast’s comprehensive initiative to advance digital equity with programs designed to connect people to the Internet, advance economic mobility and open doors for the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, storytellers and creators. The launch of Project UP in 2021 coincides with the 10th anniversary of Comcast’s Internet Essentials program, which has connected a cumulative total of more than 10 million people to the Internet at home – most for the very first time.

“We’re proud to help local veterans improve their well-being and build digital literacy skills,” said Tim Kelly, Vice President of Government Affairs for Comcast's Greater Boston Region.

Niedzwiecki noted, “Comcast’s generous donation to the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center will connect veterans to distance learning, employment opportunities and telehealth services. We are fortunate to have Comcast as a community partner and grateful for their support of those who have served.”

We look forward to welcoming customers to our latest Xfinity Store in Hyannis and sharing more about our partnership with the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center!
