*** WATCH *** Two Men Drag Bound Victim Down Route 132 in Hyannis; Police Launch Overnight Hunt After Witness Video

HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS — Barnstable police flooded Route 132 late Saturday after witnesses reported two men tying up another man and dragging him down the road near the Olive Garden, with video of the incident now at the center of an active investigation. The call came in around 11:40 p.m. Squad cars quickly saturated the area around the restaurant. Officers checked nearby abandoned properties while a K-9 unit was summoned to the Olive Garden parking lot, the last place witnesses saw the man being pulled in the direction of the Cape Cod Mall. The dog immediately picked up a scent and led officers to a Cape Crossroads apartment building. Crews searched second-floor units but came up empty. Heavy foot traffic in the area left open the question of whether the trail belonged to the suspects. Police considered two likely possibilities: the men climbed into a waiting vehicle or ducked into nearby apartments or condos. A drone was launched to watch traffic from overhead as officers began gathering area security-camera footage. The street-level search lasted about two hours. Clues were collected on scene, and detectives were already examining the case early Sunday. The video of what appears to be a forced abduction remains unexplained.
