A Long Day’s Journey Into a Relatively Quiet Overnight

The radios chattered steadily, yet the calls carried nothing newsworthy—no gaudy caravans of flashing lights, no sirens that lingered. For once, the roads stayed kind. No life-altering crashes. No one maimed. No lives cut short due to stupidity (as far as one could tell). That, my friends, is a very good night for HN. And on nights like this, it feels right to share something softer: a ferry gliding home across Nantucket Sound toward the Hyannis Inner Harbor… or a flock of tiny black birds returning after a long day of whatever birds tend to do near Kalmus Beach.
