HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – A 20-year-old local man found himself in handcuffs early this morning after Barnstable Police located a stolen GMC Sierra pickup truck parked brazenly outside 255 Bearses Way. Shawn Borden of Hyannis was arrested on charges of larceny of a motor vehicle shortly after midnight on November 22, 2025. Officers Austin Buttrick and Kristina Gustafson were seen speaking with Borden moments after he was taken into custody on Bearses Way (see above HN photos). A sheriff’s crime scene unit quickly arrived to photograph the vehicle and dust it for fingerprints, gathering evidence as part of the ongoing investigation. The Sierra was then towed to Barnstable Police Headquarters for further examination. Additional details on how the theft occurred or Borden’s alleged involvement remained scarce at the time of this report, with police officers still finalizing court documents. HN Reminder: The initial details contained in the above report are based on police radio transmissions and information from police sources. The defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. ADDITIONAL RANDOM HN PHOTOS…     HYANNIS SHOCKER: NUDE STREAKER STUNS OFF-DUTY COP IN EAST END CHAOS! ABOVE HN PHOTOS: Chaos erupted in the East End of Hyannis Thursday evening when a boozed-up, buck-naked woman — reportedly on a wild week-long bender — suddenly leaped in front of the vehicle of an off-duty police officer visiting from a neighboring town. The incident unfolded during 5:00 p.m. rush hour traffic near Main Street and Camp Street. The startled officer quickly dialed Barnstable Police. Cops and a Hyannis FD ambulance crew wasted no time swooping in and draping the bare-all boozer in a blanket. “She’s been on a tear all week,” according to one source. The 30-something Hyannis resident — no stranger to the boys in blue — was whisked to Cape Cod Hospital for a sobering evaluation.   HYANNIS MIDNIGHT MIX-UP: PJ-CLAD SENIOR PULLED OVER FOR M.V. VIOLATION WOES! ABOVE HN PHOTO: A Barnstable Police patrolman flags down a motorist tooling around Hyannis’s East End in her PJs around 1:00 a.m. this morning, clueing her in on serious motor vehicle violations that need fixing ASAP. The cooperative woman in her mid-60s was eventually sent on her merry way with just a warning.   HYANNIS WEE HOUR WALKER: BEAT COP CHATS UP SUSPICIOUS STROLLER NEAR AUDI DEALERSHIP ABOVE HN PHOTO: A Barnstable Police patrolman had a word with a young man observed on camera loitering around the Hyannis Audi dealership during the wee hours this morning. The dude insisted it was all innocent — that he was just jamming to tunes on a late-night stroll, no funny business! After a quick, surprisingly chill chat, the merry midnight wanderer bounced off toward the airport.  Unconfirmed rumor has it that the young stroller was cranking Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd…    High score! Yarmouth Police officers used their advanced Tetris skills to successfully untangle a pickup truck from a utility pole wire outside of the Dollar General store last evening! Well done, lads!
