Above HN photos: Barnstable Police responded to a single vehicle crash shortly before 3:00 a.m. this morning at the intersection of Route 132 and Route 6A in West Barnstable.  The driver claims his pickup truck suddenly had brake issues in the steady rain.  Two large highway signs were flattened.  There were no reported injuries.  The Barnstable Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident.   Above HN photo:  Barnstable Police and Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills FD responded to Route 28 near the intersection with Lumbert Mill Road after a single vehicle slid off the roadway into the woods.  There were no reported injuries, and the BPD is investigating. Flooding and large puddles made for hazardous driving during these recent rains… and one can never be too cautious out there, even under the best conditions!   Above HN photo (somewhere in Hyannis): Sometimes it can be less stress and healthier to simply hoof it! Please be safe out there, people! P.S. – Today’s Hytown Vignette is brought to you by Flash in The Pan & old, 2013 HN crime scene photos (from the days when HN’s cameras struggled with active, no light hazardous scenes…) [CLICK IT/CRANK IT! HEADPHONES ABSOLUTELY OBLIGATORY!]
