‘She’s Speaking’: Lifeguards, First Responders Revive 81-Year-Old Woman Pulled From Water in Hyannis Port [HN Video]

HYANNIS PORT, MASSACHUSETTS — Shortly after 4 p.m. Friday, lifeguards pulled an 81-year-old woman from the water onto the beach at West Beach Club, 9 Dale Ave. Hyannis firefighters and Barnstable police rushed to the scene as CPR was already underway. The first rescue personnel on scene confirmed they were “working a code.” It didn’t look good as crews fought to save her life. Responders quickly placed the woman on a stretcher and rushed her across the beach parking lot into an ambulance. Shortly after she was loaded, they told Hyannis News she was speaking — the best news of the day! She was transported to Cape Cod Hospital. Additional details were still being gathered Friday evening as Hyannis Fire remained extremely busy.
