SURVIVORS OF HOMICIDE VICTIMS GATHERING - DECEMBER 8TH In honor of Survivors of Homicide Victims Awareness Month, we’re hosting our 5th annual gathering which is a free event open to anyone as we join for an evening of community and remembrance of loved ones lost by homicide. The event is sponsored and hosted by Cape Cod Police Victim Advocates, The Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office, and Independence House. This year, we will have a guest speaker named Malcolm Astley, the father of Lauren Dunne Astley who was murdered by her ex-boyfriend in 2011 after she had broken up with him. Since his daughter’s murder, Malcolm Astley, along with the Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Fund, has worked to educate students about unhealthy relationships, dating violence and opportunities to get help. The event flyer attached here includes a QR code for RSVP registration.
