HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS –  [HN video notes] – A heated road rage incident spiraled into a chaotic confrontation in the Kalmus Beach parking lot on Saturday evening, involving a BB gun, a knife, and a stolen Audi, according to police sources and the following Hyannis News video. The incident began shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Gosnold Street when a young man driving an Audi sedan and his friend claimed they were “brake-checked” by another vehicle. Enraged, the pair followed the alleged offenders to the Kalmus Beach parking lot, where tensions exploded. Sources say the Audi driver, now considered the “victim,” pulled out a BB gun and fired at the other group, with sparks from flying BBs witnessed by startled beachgoers. The alleged brake-checkers, undeterred, reportedly retaliated. One of them allegedly slashed the Audi driver near his elbow with a knife during a physical altercation. In the chaos, one of the brake-checkers reportedly stole the Audi, only to abandon it near the parking lot entrance before fleeing with their group in their own vehicle. The suspects remain at large, with police receiving few clear details about their identities or car. Adding to the confusion, the Audi driver’s friend, caught in the melee, temporarily lost track of him, believing he was seriously injured and still inside the stolen Audi. In reality, the Audi driver had suffered only a minor slash wound, regained control of his vehicle, and drove off, leaving his friend stranded at the scene. Barnstable Police squad cars arrived to untangle what one source described as a “Saturday night [bleep]-show.” Hyannis Fire Department Rescue bandaged the Audi driver’s minor slash wound, while a Barnstable County Sheriff’s crime scene unit photographed the slash wound and BB evidence scattered across the parking lot. The young man, despite being the alleged “victim,” faces a court summons for Disturbing the Peace due to his use of the BB gun.
