CENTERVILLE, MASSACHUSETTS – The 23-year-old Randolph man accused of sexually assaulting a woman on Long Beach just after midnight Thursday was released on personal recognizance later the same day, fitted with a body-worn GPS device and ordered to stay away from the victim.
Tyler M. Walker-Miller was arrested and charged with Strangulation or Suffocation, Assault & Battery, and Indecent Assault and Battery on a Person Age 14 or Older after Barnstable Police received a call from a woman who said she had just been sexually assaulted on the beach at the end of Long Beach Road. The allegation triggered a major police response that kept officers on scene for hours searching for evidence.
Multiple officers responded to the Long Beach Road area after the victim reported the attack. They met with her at a nearby Centerville address while other units headed to the boardwalk at Long Beach to process the crime scene. As one officer drove toward the beach, he located the victim’s bra lying in the roadway next to a bottle of water. The bra was photographed and collected as evidence.
Out on Long Beach, officers spent hours searching. They used a metal detector at one point while looking for clues. A member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit was on hand, photographing and collecting evidence both on the beach and with the victim. Items recovered on the beach included women’s underwear, a sock, and a thick broken gold chain with some sort of medallion. Officers also continued searching for the victim’s missing cellphone and were still on scene hours after the initial report.
A sergeant at Barnstable Police headquarters confirmed that an adult male suspect was in custody. The investigation remained very active and ongoing throughout the morning hours.
Barnstable Police issued a media statement Thursday morning: “On Thursday, November 5, 2026, at approximately 12:26 a.m., officers from the Barnstable Police Department responded to a residence in Centerville for a report of an indecent assault and battery that had just occurred. Responding officers immediately initiated an investigation into the incident. A preliminary investigation revealed that the alleged assault occurred in the area of Long Beach Road and involved two individuals who were known to each other. As part of the investigation, additional Barnstable Police Officers responded to the Long Beach Road area to assist investigators. The investigation ultimately resulted in the arrest of a suspect. Based on information gathered during the investigation, police have determined that this appears to be an isolated incident. There is no known threat or danger to the public at this time. The investigation remains active. No further information is being released at this time.”
Walker-Miller was arraigned at Barnstable District Court later the same day, where the charges were officially filed. A plea of not guilty was entered on all charges. The Commonwealth motioned to revoke his bail, pointing out that the defendant had just been released after charges were filed during a separate incident on July 24, 2026, and a condition of his release last summer was that he was ordered to “abide by all state and federal laws.” Prosecutors also argued their case was strong and that there was enough probable cause to believe Walker-Miller had just committed a federal or state crime while on release after the summer allegations.
The Honorable Edward F.X. Lynch denied the Commonwealth’s motion to revoke bail and ordered Walker-Miller released on personal recognizance with conditions. Those conditions include electronic monitoring with a body-worn GPS device, no contact with the victim and/or witnesses, staying away from the victim and/or witnesses, and a home curfew between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m. except when at work or school. Judge Lynch also issued a “bail revocation warning” for the most recent charges.
The earlier case against Tyler Walker-Miller stems from a July 24, 2026, incident. According to a WCVB report and court documents filed in Newton District Court, he was one of three men facing several charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60. Walker-Miller was charged with Breaking and Entering into a Building during the Nighttime for Felony, Assault and Battery on a person over 60 years old, and Conspiracy to commit a Felony. He was initially held on home confinement. On September 30, 2026, a bail petition filed in Newton District Court was allowed with conditions, including no contact or indirect contact with the victim, staying 100 yards away from a Jiffy Lube in Newton, and staying away from and having no contact with the co-defendants. A bail warning was read about the consequences of picking up new state or federal charges. Bail was set at $5,000 and posted sometime in September.
According to the WCVB report, three men face charges after an attempted theft at a Newton Jiffy Lube and a crash on I-93 in Braintree. Thomas Colarusso, Tyler Walker-Miller, and Ramari Jenkins were arrested overnight after a pursuit that ended in a crash in Braintree, according to Massachusetts State Police. All three faced several charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60, and were held on bail ranging from $5,000 to $25,000. They were to appear in court for a dangerousness hearing at a later date.
The three men allegedly kicked in a garage door panel at a Jiffy Lube in Newton and started grabbing tools from the shelf around 1:45 a.m. A 68-year-old worker was still inside the store and hid while dialing 911. The worker was eventually spotted by the suspects. “At which point, one of the defendants threw a red toolbox at him, which caused him to scream and caused the other two individuals to drop the items in their hands and flee from the store,” said Elizabeth Lee, a prosecutor for the Commonwealth (and as noted in the WCVB report, which includes crash scene and arraignment video). The trio fled from the scene in a vehicle, which was later the subject of a “be on the lookout.” The vehicle was spotted by state police a short time later. When the trooper attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver did not pull over, police said. A few minutes later, troopers saw the same vehicle exit the highway in Braintree and notified Braintree police. Authorities said the vehicle then crashed, and the three occupants tried to flee on foot. All three were taken into custody by Newton police, according to state police. No injuries were reported, and the vehicles involved were towed from the scene.
These are initial details based on police radio transmissions, court documents, a July 2026 WCVB report, and information from police sources. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
