YARMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS — A 25-year-old woman was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with suspected alcohol in her system Wednesday evening after her SUV suddenly jumped a curb on Route 6 eastbound and slammed into a guardrail near the Willow Street on-ramp, according to radio transmission and sources on scene. State police and Yarmouth firefighters raced to the scene shortly before 7 p.m. following reports of a crash initially described as a rollover. When crews arrived, they found the SUV had veered from the highway, crossed the curbing separating the travel lanes from the on-ramp, and struck the metal guardrail barrier. No other vehicles were involved. Sources indicate troopers had been actively looking for an erratic driver in the area just moments before the crash — and investigators believe the wrecked SUV was the same vehicle. The woman, the sole occupant, was conscious and alert but “banged up,” according to first responders. She told rescuers she had no memory of the crash and it remains unclear whether she briefly lost consciousness. She allegedly had “ETOH” — alcohol — on board, according to radio transmissions captured by Hyannis News. A Yarmouth Fire Department ambulance crew transported her to Cape Cod Hospital in “priority two” condition.  A state trooper followed to the hospital to continue the crash investigation. The incident remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police. No charges have been announced.  [DEVELOPING] The following Hyannis News video highlights the scene… [HN Video  –  Press Play] P.S. – Today’s Hytown Vignette is brought to you by Bob Dylan… [CLICK IT/CRANK IT!
