Barnstable Police and Hyannis Firefighters arrived around 10:00 p.m. on February 19, 2026, to find the building nearly “fully involved,” leading to immediate evacuations and a street shutdown. The fire, which appeared to have caused the most damage in a former garage area, required firefighters to cut through a garage door and wall to access and extinguish the blaze. A large rooftop solar electricity system had to be disconnected during the operation, adding complexity to the efforts. Captain Ryan Clough of the Hyannis Fire Department confirmed that all four residents evacuated safely and were medically evaluated on-site, with no need for further treatment.
