New Details:
According to a Dennis Police Report filed in district court by Sergeant Matthew Turner, on the morning of December 11, 2025, he and a number of his patrol officers responded after receiving an alarming call from a woman at Tobey Farm stating that her boyfriend, Taylor Walling, was holding her inside their home with a firearm. The woman was eventually able to separate herself from Walling, meeting officers in a nearby store parking lot, while other officers took positions surrounding the residence, with Walling still believed to be inside.
The woman reportedly told officers that Walling was freaking out when he woke her, saying something about men hiding inside the bedroom. Walling was reportedly holding a black handgun and waving it around. The woman reportedly told officers that Walling had grabbed and pulled her away from a window she was attempting to escape through. During a struggle, the bedroom door allegedly slammed on the woman’s hand. She was also reportedly pushed while trying to leave but was not injured. The woman provided officers with a phone number to reach Walling.
Walling answered the phone immediately and was instructed to walk outside with his arms up, which he reportedly did. Walling was reportedly searched for weapons with negative results. He was reportedly read his Miranda rights before denying having a firearm during the alleged incident.
No firearm was found during a protective sweep of the apartment; however, officers reportedly found several needles and a small amount of a “tannish powder” on a scale in the bedroom.
Walling was reportedly transported to Dennis Police headquarters, where a booking officer located a small plastic bag containing an “off-white/tannish powder” hidden inside his sock. Officers reportedly believed the powder to be fentanyl.
Detective Sergeant Morris was contacted in order to obtain a search warrant for the alleged firearm. In the meantime, while attempting to retrieve footwear for the shoeless victim, an officer reportedly noticed a black pistol lying on the ground about forty to fifty feet from the door of the residence. A member of the sheriff’s crime scene unit photographed the firearm where it was discovered, eventually taking it back to the crime lab for further processing.
Taylor Walling, 35, is facing a number of serious charges, including subsequent offense A&B Domestic, kidnapping while armed with a firearm, possession of a firearm without a license to carry, and possession of a class A drug (fentanyl). A record check reportedly showed that Walling had a previous Barnstable District Court guilty finding for A&B family household member in 2017. Walling reportedly has forty-two entries on his adult record, including previous arraignments for four domestic A&B allegations, a ‘continuing without a finding’ (CWOF) for an allegation of possessing a class A drug, and one previous charge of carrying a dangerous weapon (unspecified), which was dismissed. Walling has a record of having six previous abuse prevention orders issued against him. An abuse prevention order from 2023 named Walling’s current girlfriend and most recent alleged victim as the plaintiff.
