BARNSTABLE – About 700 Eversource customers lost power around 5:30 PM Friday. Eversource is indicating the outage is due to “equipment damage”, likely due to the strong winds across the Cape. Fire officials reported a transformer explosion on Hyannis Road. The utility is working to restore service, they hope by 7:30 PM.
