    Above HN photos: “Another crash at South Street and High School Road in Hyannis last evening…”  Fortunately, neither of the drivers required transport to the hospital.  The Barnstable PD is investigating.       Above HN photos: The Yarmouth Police are investigating an incident where a woman was reportedly punched in the mouth behind a hotel in West Yarmouth.  The suspect(s) fled in a vehicle with an unknown license plate prior to police arriving on scene.  The woman, approximately age 40, was extremely upset and telling responders she believed her front teeth were knocked out.  The ambulance communicated with Cape Cod Hospital they were bringing in an assault victim in priority two condition, with her teeth bleeding.  The detailed circumstances surrounding the assault were unknown at the time of this report.       Above HN photos: The driver of a Hyundai sedan is facing a criminal charge of Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle after his vehicle allegedly crossed into oncoming traffic, causing a Chevy sedan to swerve in order to narrowly avoid being struck head-on last evening, sources say.  The Chevy ended up being side-swiped instead.  The crash completely shut down Old Stage Road near Stage Coach Road in Centerville.  An occupant from the Chevy sedan was transported to Cape Cod Hospital by a Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills FD ambulance crew, with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.  The Barnstable Police are investigating… HN NOTE: The above Hyannis News photos capture a very small fraction of the police activity in the Mid-Cape area last evening, Friday, October 17, 2025.  The above images are followed by basic descriptions, not comprehensive reports.
