HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN photo notes] – A woman was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital after being hit by a vehicle Monday evening. Shortly after 6:00 p.m., police and firefighters responded to an address on Compass Circle for a woman possibly suffering a broken leg. Responders arrived to find the woman conscious with severe leg trauma. The vehicle which struck her had apparently also backed into the home’s garage. The vehicle was still on scene. The woman was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital in a Hyannis FD ambulance. The building inspector needed to respond to investigate the damaged garage. A member of the sheriff’s crime scene unit assisted the Barnstable Police with photos. The Barnstable Police Department is actively investigating the cause of the accident.
