SOUTH YARMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS – According to a Yarmouth Police Department media statement, one of their brand new, rookie patrol officers (still in field training) observed a man walking along Route 28 while drinking a “nip.” Upon polishing off the booze, the man was reportedly observed throwing the empty bottle into some nearby brush. That sort of thing doesn’t fly in the Town of Yarmouth – other Cape towns, maybe – but not Yarmouth! The new officer confronted Walter Harrison, 47, of East Falmouth, about the littering. And upon further investigation, it was learned Harrison was wanted on felony warrants. (The media statement does not mention what the felony warrants were for…) Harrison was eventually transported back to YPD Headquarters in custody to be booked on the warrants. He was also issued a citation for littering. (The rookie cop who lugged the alleged litterbug was not named in the media statement.) No further details available at the time of this report. P.S. – Today’s Hytown Vignette is brought to you by Albert Collins…  [CLICK IT/CRANK IT! HEADPHONES ABSOLUTELY OBLIGATORY!]   * The details contained in the above report are based on a Yarmouth PD media statement. The accused litterbug with aforementioned felony warrants is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
