security patrol property check service

HYANNIS, MASSSACHUSETTS – [HN NOTES & MULLINGS ON THE MATTER] – At around 1:45 a.m. this morning, a couple of policemen stopped to have a word with two males on a Main Street sidewalk near the town green. One of the males fit the description of a suspect from a robbery that reportedly occurred earlier, shortly after midnight. There was a steady, gusty rain and foot traffic at that hour would most certainly draw a patrolman’s attention. “What in the world are these two young banana-heads doing out in the pouring rain at this hour?” is something I’ve muttering to myself under similar circumstances during HN’s nightly travels. Checking on possible robbery suspects is heads-up police work and both officers had their suspicions when initially attempting to make contact this morning… and those suspicions grew exponentially when one of the males suddenly took off running in the direction the JFK Museum, leaving a cheap rubber sandal in his wake. A Barnstable Police patrolman quickly detained a 16-year-old while other officers (including a couple of nearby state troopers) converged on the downtown Hyannis area looking for the other “juvenile” that had just fled on foot (possibly without one of his sandals.). As of the time of this report (around 5:30 a.m.), police had not located the other juvenile. Earlier – shortly after 2:00 a.m. – a parent came to the Main Street scene to take custody of the 16-year-old who had initially been detained. Whether or not the two juvenile males were actually involved in the earlier robbery is still under investigation. ………. As you will hear in the following HN “video” containing HN stills and Barnstable Police radio transmissions, shortly after midnight this morning, a man walked into the Wendy’s restaurant at the Airport Rotary saying he had just been robbed. An amount of cash had allegedly been taken from him by two suspects outside of a nearby Staples store. One of he suspects was initially described as a male wearing a red sweatshirt. The second suspect was initially described as a female wearing a black sweatshirt. (Police, of course, likely have additional details regarding their descriptions…) Both suspects were last seen heading south on Barnstable Road toward Main Street, according to radio transmissions. The victim who walked into the restaurant looking for help was described as currently being “homeless,” according to a police source. Investigators are currently treating the incident as a robbery but are still trying to sort out exactly what happened. There was no mention of any weapons being brandished. And it was possibly more of a “strong-arm” type robbery. Officers are working certain leads, and the investigation is active and ongoing.
