MARSTON MILLS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN VIDEO NOTES] –  First responders, including C.O.M.M. Firefighters, Barnstable Police, Massachusetts Environmental Police, and a Barnstable Harbormaster responded to the Prince Cove Marina at 253 Cedar Tree Road earlier this evening (sometime around 7:30 p.m.) for a boat crash where one of the passengers suffered what was initially described as a possible broken leg. The injured man was a passenger on a 19 ft. center console boat which collided with a 47 ft. sailboat named “RUPE,” according to radio transmissions. (According to the sole occupant of the sailboat speaking with first responders, his vessel was moored when struck… but that information has not yet been officially confirmed… and HN will provide updates and clarifications as they become available…) The Massachusetts Environmental Police appear to be leading the investigation, assisted by the Barnstable Police and other local resources. The center console boat operator and passengers were cooperative with investigators. The occupant of the sailboat arrived at the marina on a dinghy and was cooperative with investigators. The injured adult male was transported to Cape Cod Hospital in a C.O.M.M. FD ambulance. The damage to the 19 ft. center console boat appeared confined to the forward-most part of the bow, above the waterline. At first, the 47 ft. sailboat was believed to possibly be sinking, but its damage was also reportedly above the waterline and the vessel was reportedly not sinking, according to radio transmissions. The following HN Video highlights the scene at the Prince Cove Marina… [HN VIDEO – PRESS PLAY]
