HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS –  [HN VIDEO NOTES]  –  Hyannis Firefighters and Eversource crews responded to a fire at the electrical substation on Mary Dunn Road earlier this evening around 6:00 p.m.  As you will see in the following HN video, parts of the power substation caught fire.  At times there was also a smoke condition that smelled like metal burning.  The fire caused power outages in the general area, including Hyannis.  Radio and telephone systems appear to have also been affected.  A number of traffic lights in the area were not working.  The fire was reportedly out at the time of this report and Eversource crews were on scene working on the power outage situation… [HN VIDEO –  PRESS PLAY] P.S. – Today’s Hytown Vignette is a brought to you by Harry Nilsson…  [CLICK IT/CRANK IT!  HEADPHONES ABSOLUTELY OBLIGATORY!]
