A Biting Wind

The plan for the night was to go to many places for short periods of time. When the fingers went numb, it was time to go.     There was a great biting wind from the north tonight that denied any lingering. You could hear the rush of the tide being pushed to the beach.     I was confused to see birds out and about like it was nothing. Maybe they were longing to see the sun, at last, as well.   I briefly came across a familiar spot, calm and protected. And then became awestruck by the evening’s finale over Cape Cod Bay.
