FLAMES RIP THROUGH CENTERVILLE TWO-CAR GARAGE [HN PHOTOS]

      CENTERVILLE, Massachusetts – Crews rushed to reports of a fully engulfed garage at 80 Marie-Anne Terrace late yesterday, at around 7:11 p.m. According to a media statement from Captain Brian Morrison of the Centerville – Osterville – Marstons Mills Fire Department: “Units arrived on location to find a 2 1/2 story wood framed two car garage. Both floors were well involved in fire. A working fire was struck bringing mutual aid from Hyannis FD, Cotuit FD, and West Barnstable FD. Fire was brought under control at [7:43 p.m.].” There was reportedly extensive damage to the building and three vehicles, including an irreplaceable, well-kept antique station wagon. A charred pickup truck remained parked in front of the mostly gutted garage at the time of the above photos, with lettering that read, “Scott Peacock Building & Remodeling.” There were no reported injuries to civilians or first responders. Mutual aid from surrounding towns covered COMM’s fire stations during the incident. Several Barnstable Police units assisted by shutting down traffic in the vicinity of the dead end road. The blaze happened about one block from the rear entrance to COMM FD Headquarters. COMM FD maintained a fire watch throughout the overnight. Fire officials are expected to revisit the scene later this morning, sources say. The fire remains under investigation, according to Captain Morrison.
