Denis Taylor was arrested shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Yarmouth police and prosecutors. A warrant was served at 2 Ivanhoe Road after anonymous tips indicated that Taylor was responsible for the two recent bank heists in Yarmouth. He is currently being held on $100,000 cash bail for felony armed robbery of the Rockland Trust Bank on Station Avenue and felony unarmed robbery of the TD Bank on Route 28 in South Yarmouth. According to reports Taylor has a previous bank robbery conviction.
Armed Robberies Continue
Two more armed robberies in the last two days in Brewster and Orleans.
BREWSTER -- The Brewster Farms store on Route 6A was robbed by a man wearing a ski mask and goggles at about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday night. A clerk reported that came into the store, showed a handgun and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
ORLEANS -- The Mobil On the Run station at the corner of Route 6A and Main Street was robbed at 11:05 p.m. Wednesday by a man who told the clerk he had a gun. A K9 unit from the Barnstable County Sheriffs Department tracked the suspect to a residence at Bayberry Condominiums, just off Old Colony Way. John J. Kiely, 36 of Orleans was charged with armed robbery following his arrest by Orleans police.

FALMOUTH -- Not an armed robbery, but A Falmouth man held his girlfriend and their young child at gunpoint for 24 hours before the pair was able to escape yesterday, police said. Michael James Finnegan, 24, used a handgun to hold his girlfriend and child hostage in the Seven Seas Motor Lodge on Scranton Avenue.
