Mashpee, MA— Michelle Lavin of Mashpee, MA will swim, bike, and run 152 miles over the course of three days on her self-designed “Iron-woman” course starting in the town of Bourne on August 17th and ending at Race Point beyond Provincetown on August 19th. Michelle is completing this event to honor those who have suffered and are suffering with Alzheimer’s, including three members of her family.

Michelle’s grandmother, Elizabeth “Betty” Clark, passed in 2012 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Michelle’s Aunts, Margie (Clark) Munroe, and Nancy (Clark) Shock, were both diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s in their mid-sixty’s and currently reside in Alzheimer’s care facilities.

Michelle’s support team, nicknamed “Team Betty” consists of her husband Joe and other family members who will support her in her three day journey across Cape Cod.
