HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – Members of the Barnstable Police force patrol division rushed toward the Cromwell Court family apartments at 168 Barnstable Road at around 11:15 p.m. last evening for reports of multiple gunshots. One caller believed she heard 8 to 10 gunshots. Another caller reported that bullets had just ripped through her son’s bedroom. Bullets were later found embedded in his wall. The Cromwell Court apartments are made up of a total of 124 family units, according to online sources. They are “home” for numerous Hyannis families, many with minor children. Miraculously, nobody was hit. There were no reported injuries on scene. At least 7 spent shell casings were discovered in the children’s playground area behind building one. The casings were flagged with numbered evidence markers and eventually photographed by a member of the sheriff’s crime scene unit. They were then collected and processed as evidence. Members of the Barnstable Police Detective Division also began working the scene. The investigation is very active and ongoing.
