*** GRAPHIC CONTENT WARNING *** VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED *** HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN VIDEO NOTES] – Barnstable Police patrol officers rushed to the 500 block of Main Street at around 1:45 a.m. this morning for a woman reporting a man knocking, breaking her window. The man was said to be somehow related to her ex-husband. HN arrived and began documenting a very volatile and bloody scene where police officers had the extremely difficult task of securing a man in handcuffs while trying to control the bleeding from a severe laceration to the man’s forearm.  The man was continually yelling in Spanish, things like, “I’m in pain… take me to my house… let me go!  why are you doing this to me?” Officers tried their best to get the man to calm down, explaining in English that they needed to take him to the hospital for the severe cut. HN attempted to tell the man to calm down in Spanish, worried that his agitated state was only making the bleeding worse. Nothing worked… and a police officer needed to ride in the ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital to assist the ambulance crew in maintaining control. A trail of the man’s blood led back to a house in the 500 block of Main Street, where officers found a smashed in kitchen window. A couple of the officers were covered with blood from the ordeal, needing to change into clean uniforms back at police headquarters. A member of the sheriff’s crime scene unit arrived to photograph blood evidence and the broken window. Because the caller mentioned the man was related to her ex-husband, it’s being treated as a domestic related call, which means officers are unable to officially confirm details until after an arraignment, should criminal charges be filed.
