HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS –  [HN VIDEO NOTES]  –  At around 11:36 p.m., Hyannis FD Rescue ambulance responded to the front lobby of the Fairfield Inn & Suites located on Route 132 near the intersection with Airport Road for a man suffering severe burns to his arms and abdomen, according to sources.  A Hyannis FD ambulance transported the patient to CCH, requesting that police meet them inside the tunnel to the emergency room.  Meanwhile, at around 11:40 p.m., fire was reported several blocks away, inside a work bay inside a metal building at 24 Plant Road.  Hyannis Firefighters cut through metal doors and pried open doors to several smoke-filled work bays, eventually knocking down a smoky fire.  Investigators with the State Fire Marshal’s office, a Barnstable Police arson investigator, and a member of the sheriff’s crime scene unit responded and began working the scene.  The man with the severe burns was eventually airlifted to an off-Cape burn center.  Fire officials reserved comment and said they are currently working on a media statement.  HN will provide updates as soon as official details are released. The following HN Video begins with brief video highlights of the entire scene.  It then shows footage of the entire scene on Plant Road, with some shots from the airport in Hyannis.  The video also has Hyannis FD radio traffic mixed in, but not necessarily in sync with the footage.  [HN VIDEO –  PRESS PLAY]
