Above: Photo by Paul Leidenfrost/ HN edits WEST YARMOUTH – As you will see and hear in the following video by Paul Leidenfrost (HN edits w/ Yarmouth FD radio transmissions), crews rushed to a transmission shop after a pickup truck burst into flames this afternoon. Shortly before 5:00 p.m. today – Monday, June 16, 2025 – Yarmouth Firefighters responded to Transmission Specialists Inc. at 188 Route 28 for a report of a vehicle on fire. The vehicle was inside the garage, up on a lift and apparently being worked on before igniting. The fire was reportedly spreading inside the garage which contained “multiple vehicles,” according to radio transmissions. Crews from surrounding towns began responding to either assist on scene or provide station coverage. The first crews on scene reported fire inside the transmission shop and throughout the building, with one line (eventually two) immediately in operation. Police needed to control traffic in the area.
