HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN PHOTO NOTES] –  It was busy in the downtown Hyannis area both Friday and Saturday evening. The nightclubs were buzzing with young adult crowds enjoying themselves peacefully. Barnstable Police patrol officers were out in full force, visible, standing tall, at the ready… making their presence known. The above separate scenes capture the typical number of mostly-peaceful summertime revelers amid an active police presence, yet hint at Saturday’s earlier drama — a person of interest in a Yarmouth stolen vehicle caper (who also had two active arrest warrants) led Barnstable officers on daring foot chase near the Toyota dealership on Route 132, ending in a swift arrest thanks to officers’ relentless pursuit. As Hyannis gears up for today’s downtown Father’s Day celebration, with the annual car show set to draw families and chrome enthusiasts alike, the above photos encapsulate a bustling downtown atmosphere where high stakes have thus far given way to peaceful celebration with no major crimes during the recent evening hours — a welcome breather for all! Please have a very safe and splendiferous Father’s Day! P.S. – Today’s Hytown Vignette is brought to you by The Cars…  [CLICK IT/CRANK IT! HEADPHONES ABSOLUTELY OBLIGATORY!]
