HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN AUDIO NOTES] – As you will hear in the following audio recording from late Wednesday afternoon – 4/30/25 – the airwaves suddenly came alive when Barnstable Police patrol officers announced they had a reckless driver failing to stop for them in the Cape Cod Mall parking lot. The driver was said to be operating negligently at excessive speeds in the parking lot, almost hitting “multiple cars” and “multiple people.” The vehicle was described as having no plate as it fled from officers in the direction of Enterprise Road. The vehicle was last seen turning toward the intersection of Route 132 and Independence Drive at speeds in excess of 100 MPH, according to radio transmissions. A decision was quickly made to terminate the brief pursuit for public safety reasons. The fleeing vehicle is believed to be a rare BMW M4, possibly colored “darkish” gray or black. It was said to have been occupied by 5 individuals. It possibly was displaying an out-of-state vanity plate with the letters “G Y A H T” at the time of the pursuit. The dangerously and recklessly operated BMW was last seen heading toward Independence Drive. The officers involved in trying to stop the reckless driver initially got a brief, but good look at the BMW. The investigation was active and ongoing Wednesday evening and throughout the overnight. HN has reached out to police officials for updated details and information. HN NOTE: Reckless drivers, like the one described in the following HN pursuit audio, need to be arrested, charged appropriately, and fully prosecuted. Anecdotally, HN has observed an increase in dangerous driving behaviors way too close to pedestrians and other motorists. Idiots who operate at reckless speeds often end up killing or maiming themselves, innocent pedestrians, and/or innocent motorists in violent crashes… and there is absolutely no excuse for it. It’s disgusting, selfish, and potentially lethal behavior which needs to be prosecuted as such. [HN AUDIO – PRESS PLAY] P.S. – Today’s Hytown Vignette is brought to you by The Prodigy…  [CLICK IT/CRANK IT! HEADPHONES ABSOLUTELY OBLIGATORY!]
