The part of Winter Street bordering the trees streets, heading north to where it intersects with Barnstable Road has a number of dental offices (approximately 7, maybe more). It’s not unusual for office cleaning services to be working in that area after dark. And it’s also not unusual to see office cleaners in that part of town working a particular building all by themselves. Office cleaning is good honest work… but if these individual cleaners are not constantly aware of their surroundings in that part of town, they can become the target of other, less than honest individuals also out “working” in the area. It’s important to be aware of your surroundings at all times… and to keep an eye on anyone lurking about… because whether or not you’re watching them, I can guarantee that these dishonest low-lifes are most certainly watching you! Please always stay alert and aware of your surroundings! And that advice goes for the tree streets or any other street in Hyannis… or any other street on Cape Cod… or beyond, for that matter. The following HN “video” contains police radio transmissions which do a pretty good job at describing last evening’s theft. A woman was inside, cleaning a dental office in the area of Winter Street and Barnstable Road. And from the sound of it, the cleaner’s daughter may have been outside, either in or near to a park car when a masked man approached and swiped her mother’s purse. Listen carefully as the police were able to get a decent description of the thief from the daughter. Also, be advised the suspect is still at large and is believed to have possibly been involved in a string of recent thefts. The suspect is believed to be a “Hispanic male,” who was wearing a gray “COVID” type mask, a gray hoodie, and gray sweatpants. He was said to be cursing in Spanish as he fled with the purse… and is loosely estimated to be around 5’8” tall, according to one investigator.
