  HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN PHOTO NOTES] –  Barnstable police officers closed down Pitcher’s Way just north of Mitchell’s Way at around 2:00 p.m. this afternoon after two vehicles collided. The crash sent one vehicle into a utility pole. The pole was snapped in two, with the upper half left leaning over the roadway. Hyannis FD EMTs were reportedly evaluating at least two patients when HN arrived on scene. Injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. At least one of the patients, a juvenile male, was transported to Cape Cod Hospital. At least two residents in the area told HN their power was interrupted, at least briefly. The Barnstable Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash. The Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit was assisting. Excessive speed and negligent operation have not been ruled out as factors… No further details were available at the time of this report.
