HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN VIDEO NOTES] – At approximately 5:55 a.m. this morning, Barnstable Police and Hyannis Firefighters were dispatched to 751 West Main Street in front of Dunkin’ Donuts after receiving a call from a motorist who reported striking a “bicycle and pedestrian.”   First responders found a man on the pavement.  (It was approximately 21°F at the time…) The vehicle which stuck him had a damaged windshield.   The pedestrian was described as being about 50-years-old, suffering head trauma.  He was reportedly unresponsive with agonal breathing.  Hyannis Firefighters transported the patient to Cape Cod Gateway Airport in Hyannis to meet a Boston Medflight helicopter.  The patient was then flown to Rhode Island Hospital. An accident reconstruction expert was called to the scene… and the Barnstable Police Department is investigating. The driver remained on scene and was cooperating with police.
