There were a total of 5 souls onboard. The flight had been traveling from Boston to Nantucket when the decision was made for an emergency landing in Hyannis. The plane landed safely at Cape Cod Gateway Airport. The Cessna then safely taxied to the passenger terminal. The passengers were dropped off at the passenger terminal. There were no reported injuries. (It’s unknown whether the passengers were transferred to another flight to Nantucket… or whether they found other means.) The Cessna 402C was then taxied to the Cape Air hanger for inspection and possible repairs. It turned out there was actually no visible smoke inside the cockpit after all, but rather an electrical odor… possibly something overheating. There was no actual fire. The following HN “video” contains Barnstable Police and Hyannis Fire Department emergency radio transmissions… [HN VIDEO  –  PRESS PLAY]
