[BARNSTABLE PD MEDIA STATEMENT] On the morning of Tuesday December 31, 2024 Barnstable Police Officers responded to the area of Tanbark Road in Marstons Mills for reports of a bullet hole in a home’s window.  Approximately 30 minutes after clearing the scene, the department received a 911 call stating that there was now an individual shooting what appeared to be a rifle at tree workers on Tanbark Road.  When officers arrived back on scene they made contact with 34 year old Kyle Stacey, of Marstons Mills, who immediately retreated into his home.  Based upon the on-scene investigation Stacey was identified as the individual who had been shooting at the tree workers.  Due to the nature of the call members from the Cape Cod Regional SWAT Team, Barnstable Police K-9 Unit, and Barnstable Police Detective Unit also responded to the scene.  Stacey refused to comply with multiple requests to exit the residence, however he eventually did so and was taken into custody. Barnstable Police Officers and Detectives then executed a search warrant at the residence and were able to recover a quantity of .30 caliber projectiles, firearm cleaning tools, and several airguns; to include a Vulcan 3 .30 caliber airgun with an attached scope.  The Vulcan 3 .30 caliber airgun has the capability to fire both .25 and .30 caliber lead projectiles up to a velocity of 1,000 Feet Per Second utilizing compressed air.  Stacey was transported to the Barnstable Police Department where he was charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Vandalism, and Resisting Arrest.  He was ordered held on $15,000 cash bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Thursday January 2, 2025.
