As you will see in the following video, Lakeville Police are investigating after three totes of Amazon packages were discovered early Sunday morning unattended on the side of the road in a wooded area off Bedford Street. (Photo and bodycam footage courtesy of the Lakeville Police Department)   LAKEVILLE, MASSACHUSETTS – [LPD MEDIA STATEMENT] — Chief Matthew Perkins reports that Lakeville Police are investigating the discovery of approximately 80 Amazon packages in a wooded area early Sunday morning. On Sunday, Dec. 22, at approximately 2 a.m., Sgt. Shawn Robert was on routine patrol when he noticed items unattended in a wooded area near 63 Bedford St. Upon further investigation, Sgt. Robert determined they were three large totes full of Amazon packages that were spread out several feet into the woods. Police officers loaded the totes onto a pickup truck and brought them back to the Lakeville Police Department, where they inventoried about 80 packages. Police do not have any reports that the packages were stolen or misplaced, so they contacted a local Amazon distribution center in Middleborough and returned them. It is unclear at this time why the packages were left along the side of the road in this wooded area that leads to an industrial area. Lakeville Police are investigating the incident. “I would like to commend Sgt. Shawn Robert for his discovery of these unattended packages while on routine patrol,” Chief Perkins said. “Sgt. Robert likely saved a Christmas headache for many local residents by noticing these totes and getting them back to Amazon, hopefully in time for a holiday delivery.” [LAKEVILLE PD BODYCAM FOOTAGE – PRESS PLAY] P.S. – Today’s Hytown Vignette is a brought to you by Stevie Wonder…  [CLICK IT/CRANK IT!
