SOUTH YARMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS – According to a Yarmouth Police media statement, a YPD Detective and his narcotics detection dog sniffed out a bunch of counterfeit pills Monday afternoon.
Yarmouth Police Detectives and members of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) assigned to the Cape Cod Resident Office, were executing a search warrant at a South Yarmouth residence when Detective Ambrosini deployed his partner, K9 Gauge, who located more than 10 grams of counterfeit oxycodone pills, made from Fentanyl. The fake pills were located in the suspect’s car.
“An increasing number of counterfeit pills may contain lethal amounts of fentanyl and are extremely dangerous […] they often appear identical to real prescription pills,” the YPD statement reads.
Ayaydus Cruz, 28, of South Yarmouth [no booking photo provided], was charged with Trafficking in More than 10 Grams of Fentanyl.
Cruz was arraigned Tuesday morning at Barnstable District Court. No further details were available at the time of this report.
* The initial details contained in the above report are based on a Yarmouth PD media statement. All defendants are presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
HN NOTICE: Due to anticipated Space Weather, along with Heavenly forces beyond my control, HN may, or may not be working a slightly more abnormal, limited schedule for the remainder of the week and various parts of December, up until when our Earth, currently said to be orbiting the Sun at a speed of 67,000 MPH (or, in other words, the approximate velocity of your average idiot racing down South Street on any given Hyannis day), begins to, finally, tilt its Northern Hemisphere back toward our nearest star again (God willing), after the Winter Solstice on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 4:19 a.m. Please make a note of it and adjust your plans accordingly – and, for the love of everything Holy, please also try to have a very safe, thankful, and splendiferous whatchamacallit.
