HARWICH, MASSACHUSETTS – Fundraisers have been set up for the two female teens who were Medflighted from a fiery rollover crash last Monday evening – November 18, 2024. The single vehicle crash happened around 10:45 p.m., on Queen Anne Road near Rebecca Road. Police estimated the vehicle was traveling over 80 MPH just prior to the crash. A total of 5 teens were injured and transported to hospital. Two female needed to be airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with serious, life-threatening trauma. One of the teenage girls was said to have been suffering a partial leg amputation.
On Friday – November 22, 2024 – HN had a brief conversation with Jennifer Hermes, the mother of one of the Medflighted victims, the one first thought to be 15 years old by police… but apparently, Alexis (left insert in above HN crash scene photo) didn’t have her identification with her the evening of the crash… and she is actually 17 years old, according her mom, who was sitting beside her daughter at Mass. General during our phone conversation. Jennifer Hermes describes her family’s current ordeal in an online fundraiser:
“My name is Jennifer Hermes. My daughter Alexis was in a horrific car accident in Harwich, MA, on November 18, 2024. I need to be with my daughter in Boston daily as she wants me at her side because she’s very scared. She was life-flighted to Mass General with life-threatening injuries. She is 17 years old and has a very long road to recovery. I need help as I’m also in the middle of moving and the cost for gas, bills, etc. I can’t be in two places at once. If you could please find it in your hearts to donate or share it, it would be much appreciated. God bless, thank you.”
Both daughter and mom are together in the hospital… and both have a very long road ahead in terms of surgical procedures and healing. Recovery could possibly be anywhere from 6 to 9 months, at least, according to mom. Please keep Alexis and her mom in your prayers! A fundraiser has been set up to help… CLICK HERE!
A second online fundraiser has been set up for the second teenage female Medflighted to Mass. General last Monday. The second Medflight patient was described as a 17-year-old female suffering life-threatening, multi-system trauma.
A best friend of the second victim describes her as being an 18-year-old college student, according to a GofundMe fundraiser:
My name is Grayson Burney. My best friend Dani Goss was in a horrible car accident on Monday, November 18. She was med-flighted to Boston and has been in the hospital since Monday night with extensive injuries. Dani and her guardian have asked me to organize this to help Dani through these next stages of her recovery. Dani is an 18-year-old college student, and she needs funds for medical bills, items that were destroyed in the accident, and extra support for living expenses until she is well enough to work again in about 6 months.
Dani is an extremely important part of my life; she has helped me through some of the hardest things I have ever experienced. I know that so many of you can relate. She is selfless and kind, and always willing to lend a hand to those in need. She and her guardian are grateful for all the love and support they have already received. Please help Dani out by donating and sharing her story.
HN has reached out to the fundraiser organizer and will provide updates as they become available. Please keep Dani in your prayers. CLICK HERE to visit an online fundraiser to help her with expenses…
