Full Moon Rising

There was a bit of a wait for the rising full Beaver Moon last night. A thick layer of clouds along the horizon blocked the view.   What was quite odd, I thought, was when the moon gently rose above the clouds, the cloud layer soon rose higher and briefly blocked the moon again. It was strange, even unsettling, knowing that the moon was rising but viewing this illusion of it setting because of the movement in the cloud layer.   As it rose higher, the moon shined brightly on the water below, dancing on the waves in an almost hypnotic way.
