Above: FPD surveillance image/HN edits…   FALMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS – In a media statement, the Falmouth Police Department commended one of their patrolwomen for her “vigilance and commitment,” which led to the apprehension of a suspected package thief. On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at around 2:32 p.m., Officer Emily Levins was on patrol in the Great Harbors neighborhood when she spotted a vehicle on Sanddollar Circle that matched the description from security footage related to a series of recent package thefts. Patrolwoman Levins also observed a male resembling the suspect seen in the same security footage. Patrolwoman Levins’ observations led to additional patrol and detective units responding to the scene. An investigation was conducted, which led to the recovery of multiple items previously reported as stolen, cops say. Wericsson Nunes-Lima, 23, of Middleboro, was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with Larceny and Vandalizing Property. He was booked and was reportedly awaiting bail at the time of yesterday’s FPD media statement. In their statement, the Falmouth PD urged residents to remain especially vigilant with package deliveries as the holiday season approaches. They also provided a link to a recent Better Business Bureau article that deals with the problem of “porch pirates.” CLICK HERE to read “BBB Tip: 6 ways to keep your packages safe from porch pirates…” P.S. – Today’s Hytown Vignette is a brought to you by Toots & The Maytals…  [CLICK IT/CRANK IT! The defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
