FALMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS – According to a Falmouth Police media statement, on Tuesday – October 22, 2024 – at approximately 5:16 p.m., Falmouth police officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle in the area of 614 Main Street. The FPD statement continues as follows: “Upon arrival, officers discovered and unconscious male, age 29 of Falmouth, on the sidewalk. Falmouth Fire and Rescue Department responded and transported the victim to an Off-Cape trauma center, where he is currently in critical condition due to life-threatening injuries sustained in the incident. The operator of the vehicle remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The Cape Cod Law Enforcement Crash Reconstruction Unit and the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office are assisting the Falmouth Police Department in this ongoing investigation. Initial findings indicate that the male entered the roadway outside of the designated crosswalk, resulting in a head-on collision with the vehicle. The Falmouth Police Department will provide updates as additional information becomes available.”
