security patrol property check service

WEST YARMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS – A number of Yarmouth Police patrol cars responded to the area of Route 28 and Cozy Home Terrace for an armed robbery shortly before midnight last evening. A man was met by a friend after closing up a nearby business and they were walking home along Route 28 when they were suddenly approached by two masked men, one of them brandishing a knife, according to sources on scene.  A wallet was reportedly taken.  The robbery appears planned. The masked men had been reportedly waiting nearby, possibly across the street in darkness. It had been especially busy for Yarmouth officers at the time of the robbery, and cruisers had to leave other calls and far off locations, which added time to some of their responses. Another complication was that there was a language barrier which made it more difficult to get robbery suspect details out to responding patrol officers. A Yarmouth Police K9 unit arrived and had a strong track going but was ultimately unable to catch up to the suspects who are believed to have fled the immediate area on foot. Neither of the two armed robbery victims were injured. The YPD investigation and translation of details is still ongoing…     Above HN photos: At around 1:30 a.m., Dennis police responded to a residence on Pleasant Street in East Dennis after homeowners were awakened by loud pounding, possibly on a door. A woman at the residence then noticed that a window had been broken, apparently by some type of projectile. Responding officers saturated the normally quiet neighborhood looking for a possible suspect. A K9 unit responded from the Yarmouth PD to assist in the search. No suspect was found. Officers did, however, find at least two open, unsecured doors at nearby buildings, including one at the Grace Church on Center Street. A member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit responded to photograph evidence. The incident remains under investigation by the Dennis Police Department. HN NOTE: Just a quick reminder to be especially careful and safe this weekend during that whole “Labor Day thang!” P.S. – Today’s Hytown Vignette is a brought to you by James Brown…  [CLICK IT/CRANK IT!
