HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN VIDEO NOTES] – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, shortly prior to 11:00 p.m. last evening, Barnstable Police responded to a single vehicle crash into a utility pole at the intersection of Sea Street and Ocean Ave. The young male driver was evaluated by Hyannis Rescue but was not transported. The blue Nissan Roque was unregistered for lack of insurance. It was heavily damaged and needed to be towed from the scene. Officers reportedly found an open Heineken beer inside the vehicle. The utility pole was snapped at its base and power was knocked out in the area for a period of time. According to sources on scene, the driver received a criminal citation for Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, “Open Container,” and Marked Lanes… and possible additional charges. HN NOTE: The defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Above HN photos: Shortly before midnight last evening, police and firefighters responded to a rollover crash on Great Wester Road just east of the intersection with South Gages Way. The male driver was initially entrapped, according to radio transmissions, and was eventually transported to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation. The crash was still under investigation at the time of this report; however, one officer eventually requested an accident number, along with an arrest number, according to radio transmissions. A pedestrian crosswalk light was knocked over and uprooted during the crash…

Above HN photos: Barnstable Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Winter Street early Sunday morning, right around bar closing. But according to sources on scene, the crash may have been caused by a medical emergency. The driver was inside an ambulance being attended to by Hyannis Firefighters at the time of the above photos. (HN was then diverted from the scene by another emergency call…) The Barnstable Police Department is investigating.

Above HN photos: A number of Barnstable Police officers responded to a Hyannis apartment building early this morning, shortly after bar closing, after a woman reported that a male was attempting to break into her apartment. The male suspect apparently tried to enter by popping the screen off one of ground level windows. The suspect had already fled prior to police arriving on scene. A member of the Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit responded to photograph evidence. The suspect was still at large at the time of this report…
*** WATCH *** POLICE RESPOND TO REPORT OF LARGE FIGHT AT THE KENNEDY MEMORIAL PARK
HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN VIDEO NOTES] – As you will see in the following HN Video, a number of Barnstable Police officers responded to a report of a large fight, possibly involving as many as 10 people, at the Kennedy Memorial Park on Ocean Street early this morning. There was no active fighting when officers arrived on scene. There were, however, at least two males with large lumps and facial cuts. No arrests were made, and the group was advised that park is closed during the evening hours. HN spoke with one of the groups and they explained that the fight started between at least two males over a woman. The following HN Video highlights the scene…
