HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN VIDEO NOTES] –  As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, police responded to the Castlewood Circle neighborhood at around 2:45 p.m. today for a domestic disturbance where firearms were possibly causing alarm. According to radio transmissions, the involved couple are possibly in the process of getting a divorce. The adult male caller was claiming the female took his firearms and moved them into another room, according to dispatch. The male caller then claimed the female had locked herself inside a bedroom with the firearms, according to transmissions. The male caller also claimed the two firearms were a loaded 9mm handgun and a loaded AR 15 rifle, according to radio transmissions. This escalated matters… Police reportedly set up a perimeter in the densely populated family neighborhood. The male met police outside and was eventually placed in the back of a cruiser. According to radio transmissions, dispatchers were able to make contact with the female and a lieutenant on scene advised, “Have her come to the front door and exit nice and easy with her hands up…” Officers made contact with the female and the situation then sounded to be under control. Hyannis Rescue responded and transported the male caller to Cape Cod Hospital after a “section 12” had been issued, according to radio transmissions. A member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to document evidence… but what that evidence was is unknown at the time of this report. It’s uncertain if any arrests have been made. Because this a “domestic situation” it’s unlikely that official details will be released at this time. HN observed a U-Haul pickup truck parked in front of the residence. Neighbors and passersby were looking on as police and an ambulance crowded the street. A section of Castlewood Circle was shut down at one point until the scene was made safe. The following HN “video” contains still photos from the scene. Care was taken to obscure certain details… but the video also shows that the “volatile domestic situation” was quickly under control… and the neighborhood was able to return to normal within a relatively short span of time.
