HN PHOTO NOTES: Yarmouth police investigated vandalism to two cars that were parked side-by-side outside of a South Yarmouth hotel no-tell Thursday morning. One of the vehicles was registered locally.  Yarmouth police officers on scene were busy trying to contact the hotel guests who belonged to the vehicles so they could attempt to figure out what may have been going on… … but unfortunately, HN had to quickly leave this scene to respond to a crash at the Orleans rotary. Moments earlier, the state police had been trying to catch up to a vehicle that took off from them somewhere in the area of “Suicide Alley” on Route 6. Troopers were not actively pursuing the fleeing vehicle, but there soon was a report about someone crashing into the Orleans rotary. Cape officers who had tuned into the state police situation thought the crash was perhaps related… … it wasn’t.  (FML)   HN responded to the Orleans rotary, and it turns out that another, unrelated random vehicle had just crashed there. An Eastham Police Officer was on scene investigating the crash when HN arrived. There were no injuries, and the crash was relatively minor. Author’s note: it is not unusual for HN to travel back and forth across Cape Cod throughout any given overnight, sometimes to have leads turn out to be less serious than initially believed. Which is good news, in a way… but bad news too, in terms of productive news gathering. C‘est la vie! P.S. – Today’s Hytown Vignette is a brought to you by Cage the Elephant…  [CLICK IT/CRANK IT!
