HYANNIS – [HN photo notes] –  Occasional light rain drifted across Route 28 toward the Northeast throughout the first half of the overnight, finally clearing out completely sometime after midnight. And the faint mid-50s breeze felt warmer than earlier in the week, which was good. Little things were happening here and there, now and again. But otherwise, it was an overnight of near-deadly, dull monotony for some, and a much darker night of the soul for others. In the East End, shortly after two this morning, a patrolman came upon a young, intoxicated woman bleeding from the mouth. (She may have fallen and struck her face somehow, but there were no witnesses on hand to confirm or deny the theory…) She resisted help and tried to walk away at first, but officers and firefighters were able to eventually guide her onto stretcher, especially since things were not open for debate at that point. At around 3:00 a.m., firefighters and police rushed to a priority one overdose at a Hyannis residence. They found an unconscious young woman on a second story deck. Several Narcan doses later she began to show signs of life again. She, like the other injured woman, did not want to go to the hospital at first either, but just about everyone on scene insisted… it also wasn’t open for debate in her case. P.S. – Today’s Hytown Vignette is a brought to you by John Barry…  [CLICK IT/CRANK IT! HEADPHONES ABSOLUTELY OBLIGATORY!]
