The following are excerpts from reports filed in Barnstable District Court by Barnstable Police Detectives regarding a reverse sting targeting prostitution customers (“Johns”), conducted on Tuesday, September 26, 2023: CASE # 1 Det. Sgt. Kevin Connolly: “This statement contains information only to establish probably cause for the offense of Sexual Conduct for a Fee, a violation of Massachusetts General Law Chapter 272, Section 53A. On Tuesday September 26, 2023, the Barnstable Police Department, Barnstable County Sheriffs and the Massachusetts State Police conducted a mission to reduce the demand of commercial sexual exploitation. An operation was conducted during which law enforcement officers posed escorts online. [A room] in the Barnstable area was utilized for the operation. At approximately 1107 hours, a number [] texted the U/C phone number assigned to the commercial sex Ad posted online by investigators. UC-1 had a text conversation with the person who contacted the advertisement. An agreement was made for half hour for $150. The person who contacted the advertisement stated to the U/C, “Love tons of foreplay and being edged.” When the U/C asked about condoms, the contacting person advised “I’ve had a vasectomy so not something I always buy.” After the agreement was made, the person was given the location of the [room]. At approximately 1158 hours, the person arrived to the [room]… At approximately 1202 hours, Sergeant Peter Hurkett observed a person arrive and knock at the door of the U/C decoy room. Once the person knocked on the door, investigators assigned to the arrest team placed the person into custody. The person was then identified as Jonathan Cutler…” Jonathan Lee Cutler, 44, of South Yarmouth, was charged with Sexual Conduct for a Fee (Misdemeanor). CASE # 2 Det. Lieutenant Meaghan Cunningham: “… At approximately 1115 hours, a number [] texted the U/C phone number assigned to the commercial sex Ad posted online by the investigators. UC-1 had a text conversation with the person who contacted the advertisement. An agreement was made for the ‘HHR BBBJ and Greek’ for $200. HHR is a commonly used acronym in the commercial sex industry to describe half an hour and ‘BBBJ’ is a commonly used acronym in the commercial sex industry to describe bare back blow job. ‘Greek’ is a commonly used acronym in the commercial sex industry to describe anal.” The person reportedly arrived at the room, knocked, and was arrested. Paul Wickle, 52, of Hyannis, was charged with Sexual Conduct for a Fee (Misdemeanor). CASE # 3 Det. Lieutenant Meaghan Cunningham: “… At approximately 1423 hours, a number [] called the U/C phone number assigned to the commercial sex Ad posted online by investigators. UC-1 had a phone conversation with the person who contacted the advertisement. An agreement was made for ‘HHR-$150’. The person requested ‘Full sex’ and ‘I want to eat your butt’. ‘HHR’ is a commonly used acronym in the commercial sex industry to describe half hour.” The person reportedly arrived at the room, knocked, and was arrested. Gary Soares, 40, of New Bedford, was charged with Sexual Conduct for a Fee (Misdemeanor). CASE # 4 Det. Lieutenant Meaghan Cunningham: “… An agreement was made for ‘QV’ for $120. ‘QV’ is a commonly used acronym in the commercial sex industry to describe a quick visit which means quick sex.” The person reportedly arrived at the room, knocked, and was arrested. Peter Bornstein, 58, of Brewster, was charged with Sexual Conduct for a Fee (Misdemeanor). CASE # 5 Det. Lieutenant Meaghan Cunningham: “… An agreement was made fo sex. The person asked for rates for ‘HHR’ which was $150 and ‘QV’ which was $120. The person responded ‘$120’.” Calmore Plummer, 47, of Hyannis, was charged with Sexual Conduct for a Fee (Misdemeanor). CASE # 6 Det. Lieutenant Meaghan Cunningham: “… An agreement was made for ‘QV’ for $120.” Steven Hamilton, 33, of Chatham, was charged with Sexual Conduct for a Fee (Misdemeanor). CASE # 7 Det. Lieutenant Meaghan Cunningham: “… An agreement was made for ‘HHR’ for $150.” The person reportedly arrived at the room, knocked, and was arrested. John Joseph Blackledge, 44, of East Sandwich, was charged with Sexual Conduct for a Fee (Misdemeanor). CASE # 8 Det. Lieutenant Meaghan Cunningham: “… An agreement was made for ‘HHR’ for $150… When the person was asked by UC-1 what he likes, he stated ‘Getting and giving oral’ and ‘I like doggie and cowgirl’. The person also asked “How much is Bare’ to which the U/C responded $170. ‘Bare’ is a commonly used acronym in the commercial sex industry to describe no condom.” The person reportedly arrived at the room, knocked, and was arrested. Peter Macleod, 63, of Sandwich, was charged with Sexual Conduct for a Fee (Misdemeanor). CASE # 9 Det. Lieutenant Meaghan Cunningham: “… An agreement was made for ‘½ hour’ for $150. The person requested a ‘BBBJ DATY F/S.’ ‘BBBJ’ is a commonly used acronym in the commercial sex industry to describe bare back blow job. ‘DATY’ is a commonly used acronym in the commercial sex industry to describe “Dining at the Y” which in the commercial sex industry refers to oral sex on a female. ‘F/S’ is a commonly used acronym in the commercial sex industry to describe full service and/or full sex.” The person reportedly arrived at the room, knocked, and was arrested. George S. Wheeler, 61, of East Falmouth, was charged with Sexual Conduct for a Fee (Misdemeanor). CASE # 10 Det. Lieutenant Meaghan Cunningham: “… An agreement was made for ‘HHR for sex’ for $150… The person stated ‘I do 80 for QV’ and then stated ‘sex everything.’” The person reportedly arrived at the room, knocked, and was arrested. Jose Reyes, 31, of Marstons Mills, was charged with Sexual Conduct for a Fee (Misdemeanor). * The details contained in the above report are based on police reports filed in Barnstable District Court.
