            HYANNIS, Massachusetts –  Firefighters used the jaws of life in extricated an elderly man from a mangled wreck on Winter Street today.  The single vehicle crash happened around 2:00 p.m.  A pole was snapped.  A parked vehicle was damaged.  But fortunately no pedestrians were struck when the Toyota Tundra lost control.  Winter Street was completely closed down while first responders worked the scene.  The driver was conscious and alert while being placed onto a stretcher.  He was transported to Cape Cod Hospital.  The Barnstable Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
