Seeing The Sunrise At Coast Guard Beach Was Incredible

Sunday night, while down the Cape, I set my alarm for 4:10 AM. As hard as that was, it was even harder to get up at 4:10 AM. But boy am I glad that I did it. My father and two brothers joined me for a drive to Coast Guard Beach in Eastham to see the sunrise. Even though we were staying in Dennis, we made the trek to Eastham since the Coast Guard Beach is so picturesque. CGB is part of the Cape Cod National Seashore and it is eastward facing meaning it looks directly out to the horizon at sunrise.   The sunrise Monday morning was at 5:31. We parked at 4:55. After a brief walk from the parking lot down to the beach, we caught our first glimpse of the sky over the beach:       Incredible. If there is one thing I have learned over the last couple of years, it’s that clouds can sometimes make a sunset look even more beautiful. Well, on Monday morning, I learned the same is true for the sunrise.   After taking a few shots from the back end of the beach, we made our way closer to the water. This picture I captured at 5:02 is one of my favorites from the morning:       After walking down the water, we moved to a higher elevation. It was an interesting perspective, but I thought the greenery was more of an obstacle than anything else. So I quickly returned to the beach. Here are a couple of my other favorites:                 Just beautiful. Mother Nature is something else.   10/10. Would highly recommend it. If you have ever debated doing something like this, grab a parent, significant other, sibling, or friend, and do it.   Waking up at 4:10 AM: brutal. Seeing the sunrise with my dad and my brothers: priceless.
